Backyard drinking clear sunshine Come over to my place anytime Bottle of wine grilled BBQ meat Hard to say why sometimes I'm just thirsty Seen the flashing lights and tried to run Mostly party in the sun Smoking the light ones just for fun No one's watching then I'm done I keep waiting for the day The blood in my piss goes away Speculate the end of the universe Shiny silver change in your purse
2.
So Long Gene 03:07
It's just not funny anymore Keep on knocking at that door It's the same thing every day And I just can't get away Sucking on a cigarette Life is like a movie scene Tired of watching it all fall down I turned up late again You know I'll always do it again Don't know where are all my friends They just can't handle such a scene Lord only knows where that's been Too many things I'd wanna forget Hell life’s been good to me Tired of watching it fall down Come on and help me out my friend Sleep on your side or else you'll drown All alone in the end
3.
Wind me up When I'm coming down All my friends Grassing and selling out Dream of sunsets Beach of golden sand Getting good at using my left hand It's a crime Of opportunity Come back from the shops Clear History
4.
Dan Murphy's 04:24
Clock's bright red at a quarter to nine Hotel room with the half drawn blinds Paranoia on the aeroplane Bukowski novel and the CIA In the queue Imported and new Dan Murphy’s Then I think I forgot my ID Got to the city yeah but not on time Chinatown blood and a Pony line Maxi cab near the King St sign 10 buck note and the cleanskin wine
5.
TV Snow 03:28
Nothing’s bluer than a Union Jack Red wine closing time off-licence psychopath When you’re pissing in London fog Birthday mugging trashcan rampage angry mob Sugar mumma’s on the phone Bed lamp’s on but the TV is snow Telecasters crossing wires one way fine Shredded tires L.A. waiting on the line Bus station smell chips stare at the snack machines Warehouse crashing interview magazine Sugar mumma’s on the phone Bed lamp’s on but the TV is snow Smoking in a Salem witch’s bed Thrusting pinball disappearing maybe dead Frenchy drums with such T.L.C. He played Reading and we played Leeds But he had to quit the band Set alight the UK flag
6.
Desert Trip 02:22
Broken hit the bar Busy getting out my mind No recollection overwhelming dread of wasted time Morning search begins Last gasp Western soul Vitamin B & Valium Corona and two Panadol It's too late to turn back Way too late Eagle flying high over the wind currents Above the desert If it don’t bubble it ain’t worth the trouble Rental car cover up Mysterious dent Side-swiped in Inglewood Bloods watching Toking blunt cigarettes
7.
It's Friday night and we need to talk Microwave Burrito Bandini pours Ride the faders Shoot like a cannonball Bottles of beer Now there’s nothing at all Jettison remote control into the sky And whatever I did, I apologise Lost in the wilderness, vision quest A low dose held close Mother Nature’s chest
8.
Down by the Mexican Motel No Vacancy sign always blinking to lure non-junkies to stay Spinning the ashtray like Russian Roulette Betting on black all the overdue rent I even took a shower Reside in bars during daylight hours Where happy hour ain't that happy at all Thought it was late and I had ruined plans Squinted and realised that that was just the second hand All out of Coke or a little bit left A bump and a tug and I'll probably forget
9.
I didn’t know just what to do I was coming down you were too Felt like I might be just losing my mind Can never see in front of me clear as I see behind Started out just drinking beer but then I hit the harder stuff To ease my troubled mind I turn to one thing I trust Cause y’know my problems they all seem to disappear When music’s playing and the bar is near So I guess I’ll drink another round Found some sorrows that I think I need to drown Once again I’ll show my sorry face And remember just why I came to this place

about

Major Bummer woke one evening feeling the same way, and decided to place an ad in the Musicians Wanted section of a local guitar shop. It read:

“Own gear own transporting anti-time-wasters request others of similar ilk to simulate Replacements massacring Wilco's 'Being There' with wannabe Malkmus / Mascis team replacing Nels / other guy while the modern day Beach Boys tribute show overdub harmonies from their death beds via a 2003 version of Skype”.

One year goes by. No love for The Bummers. All 32 tear-off tabs with landline number still intact. So we decided to go the other way and asked all our guitar playing friends to join instead.

With world peace + universal harmony + first contact with extraterrestrials at stake, the production team at Bummer Capital City ensured particular special care + love was taken on Party Time to get Guitar Solo / Chorus ratio just right, all the while building intergalactic + microscopic layer of reverbering broadcast that can be sent into space with ease but still sound 4 and half star worthy on your white headphones that came free with your first iPhone

While making this album The Bummers collected memories from trips to the discount bottle superstore + a California dispensary + the Mojave Desert + a man called Bukowski + another man called Bandini + a French fill-in touring drummer + opportunistic masturbation + the disappearance of Gene Ween + that feeling you get when crack first beer…matter of fact we got it now.

In less time than it take to watch Seinfeld re-run with all the ads taped out the nine songs in Party Time world have more air guitar wig-out + nods to the common hangover than the three days you spent looking for your tent at Desert Daze

Smoke 'em if you got some
